- Shift: DayJOB SUMMARY The TK Classroom Teacher Aide is responsible for providing assistance to instructional programs by assisting the teacher in achieving educational objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. The TK Classroom Teacher Aide assists the teacher in providing a well- organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. JOB DUTIES Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following teacher direction and demonstration. Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, assignments, location of supplementary materials from school library and other resources areas. Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist. Counts and records specific student behaviors; administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan. Monitors student use of instructional equipment. Provides general maintenance of equipment including cleaning and disinfecting. Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly and attractive learning environment; Serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher. Meet regularly with teachers and/or certificated support staff to plan program activities and review materials and assignments Communicate with collaborating agencies, district personnel, parents, students and the public to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns; speak, translate into the primary language Assist with parent contacts by telephone or in person serving as an interpreter as required Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected in the classroom teachers. Other job related duties and schedules assigned by supervisor QualificationsQualifications Knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment as appropriate to the grade levels assisted. Ability to Carry out activities of the program in accordance with applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and procedures. Ability to Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups. Ability to Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to Use technology appropriately. Requires near visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens. Requires sufficient hand/arm/finger dexterity to retrieve work materials and operate standard office equipment.

- Minimum: Have a high school diploma or the equivalent, and pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction or California Basic Educational Skills Test [CBEST] Experience with younger students age 5 and below and/or
- ECE units or a

- Preferred: Two years of college (48 units), or A.
