- Category: Kids Club Before/After-School ProgramsYSS is seeking an enthusiastic, fun, Summer Kids Club Program Assistant (PT) to help us provide stability and education beyond the classroom. Our Kids Club program offers a safe and stimulating environment before and after school and during no-school days for children (grades K-6). We provide structured, interactive, activities that help children build their skills. As a Program Assistant, you will provide activities and tutoring for participants. You will also directly supervise children, following schedules, keeping records of their progress, and create a nurturing environment that allows children to play, learn, and build positive relationships.
- Responsibilities include: Supervising children in the Kids Club Program. Providing all-day programming for full school length days during the summer. Coordinating with community resources to provide recreational and educational activities. Helping to plan and implement the activities of Kids Club which focus on meeting goals and objectives for each group. Helping prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks. Recording behavior and participation of each child in the program and help to evaluate progress. Completing incident reports as necessary. Maintaining good working relationships with school personnel, janitors, secretaries, and parents. Maintaining a clean facility, equipment, and supplies. QualificationsRequired Education, Knowledge, Experience, or Skills Must be at least 16 years old. A High School Diploma/equivalent. One year of experience working in the human services field. Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within three months of hire. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Experience, or Skills Previous experience looking after, caring for, or supervising children. Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with others. Ability to use critical thinking skills to problems solve. The IDEAL Candidate Enjoys working with children.
