Job summary/Basic function

The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) dual-enrollment faculty position (#712130) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually, subject to available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed through annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach sections of dual enrollment U.S. History at Rutherford and/or Williamson County area high schools, as needed, to meet a full-time teaching workload. The sections will be offered as part of the normal high school course schedule. The successful candidate must communicate regularly with the high school administration and the Department Chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar.

Required education

A terminal degree in history or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
