About the Role
As a Volleyball Coach at Southern Highlands Preparatory School, you will support the development of student-athletes through engaging, organized, and skill-focused volleyball instruction. This role combines mentorship, athletic leadership, and team development to help students build confidence, sportsmanship, discipline, and pride in representing their school community. You will play an important role in fostering a positive and competitive team culture while ensuring student safety and promoting athletic growth both on and off the court. You will also: Lead practices focused on volleyball fundamentals, conditioning, teamwork, and game strategy Prepare student-athletes for games, tournaments, and school athletic events Teach and reinforce proper techniques and ensure adherence to all safety protocols Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment that encourages growth and sportsmanship Organize practice schedules, equipment, uniforms, and team logistics Travel with the team to games and athletic events as needed Maintain proactive and professional communication with students, families, and school staff Model professionalism, leadership, reliability, and exceptional sportsmanship Support the academic and personal development of student-athletes What We’re Looking For: CPR and First Aid certification Prior experience coaching volleyball or participating in competitive volleyball preferred High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Commitment to student safety, mentorship, and positive athlete development Ability to pass state and federal background checks To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
