- Hours: 8:30 A.M-3:00 P.M
- Responsibilities include: Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities. Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data. Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed. Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction. Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction. Meet regularly with classroom staff and interdisciplinary team to affect maximum service delivery. Demonstrate knowledge of student’s disability and impact on performance and functioning. Adapt treatment activities when necessary to achieve desired goals. Manage screenings and follow up for appropriate equipment and services for children. Incorporate current theory and research into all treatment plans. Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Physical Therapy and New York State License required. Pediatric experience highly preferred. Ability to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities. Ability to communicate seating, positioning and other special considerations to classroom staff. Knowledge of developmental disabilities and appropriate therapeutic intervention techniques.
