Our day program is seeking a motivated part-time Recreation & Physical Development Coach (4 hours) to lead engaging movement-based activities that promote teamwork, physical wellness, coordination, confidence, and community connection.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading group fitness activities, team sports, agility drills, recreational games, obstacle courses, and active community adventures—all while helping participants strengthen communication skills, social interaction, leadership abilities, and healthy lifestyle habits in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. What you'll do:
Experience coaching sports, fitness, recreation, athletics, PE, or team-based activities preferred Athletic or recreational coaching abilities Group motivation and engagement Strong team-building abilities Conflict resolution and positive behavior support Creativity in designing engaging physical activities High energy and active participation style Ability to maintain structure while creating a fun environment
. Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead both indoor and outdoor activities, including sports and hiking. High school diploma or GED Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and at least state-minimum car insurance Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes) Must possess and maintain a clean driving record (no moving violations, at-fault accidents, etc.) Must have moderate smart cell phone and computer skills. Possess a valid certificate of completion of first aid and CPR training or the ability to obtain one upon hire Maintain current and valid licenses, certificates, or registrations that may be legally required to provide the service. Must pass a background check.
Background in recreation therapy, kinesiology, psychology, or related field. Experience with adaptive sports, outdoor education, or wellness programming.
