  • Some of the responsibilities for this role include the following: Understand and promote the school's mission and core values.
  • Providing supervision and care to children.
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum for children.
  • Lead teachers will develop, create, and execute weekly lesson plans.
  • Encourage fellow teachers to contribute in curriculum planning and classroom management.
  • Follow all state childcare licensing regulations.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and co-workers.
  • Help children to develop self-help skills.
  • Create a fun, exciting, and loving classroom environment for children to thrive in.
  • Communicate with families on children's progress and input data into appropriate systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of families and children.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
  • Respond to those needs appropriately and quickly.

  • GA Pre-K Lead Teachers must have one of the following: Bachelor's Degree preferred in: Early Childhood Education (P-5) Birth Through Kindergarten Elementary Education Elementary Reading & Literacy Special Education Child and Family Development Child Development GA Pre-K Assistant Teachers must have one of the following: Valid Paraprofessional Certificate (issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission) Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (issued by the Council for Professional Recognition) TCC (Technical Certificate of Credit) in Early Childhood Education TCD (Technical College Diploma) in Early Childhood Education AA, AS, AAS, AAT (Associate Degree) or BA, BS (Bachelor Degree) Georgia Teaching Certificate (issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission) (Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher positions are full time) Additional Requirements: CPR and 1st Aid Certifications (or willingness to obtain these).
  • Must maintain Bright from the Start training requirements and GA Pre-K training requirements.
