**500 Sign on Bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days)**
Position: Employment & Training Specialist 1
Location: Middletown, CT
Rate of Pay
$23.84 per hour
Schedule
- 35
- Hours per week
- Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:00pm with flexibility for weekend hours as needed
Summary
• The Employment Specialist is experienced in providing person-centered support under limited supervision by actively engaging members through role modeling, skills training, and relationship building to help achieve individual goals and build independence. Skilled in providing orientation, training, and supervision to individuals with disabilities while implementing employment plans designed to maximize worker progress and ensure job responsibilities are performed to specifications. Strong background in job coaching, human services, direct care, and residential support settings. Proven ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency policies, procedures, and standards. Effective written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Associates degree with a minimum of two years of related experience, or High School Diploma, GED, or HiSet with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Experience in job coaching, human services, direct care, residential services, or related support roles preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle and a willingness to transport participants is required.
- Ability to travel throughout the region to residential settings, employer locations, offices, and community organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and email communication.
- Ability to accurately complete program progress notes, reports, and billing documentation in a timely manner while maintaining compliance with agency standards and procedures.
