Job description

  • STAR Clinic is a world-renowned clinic, specializing in evidence-based assessment and treatment for depressed, anxious, suicidal teens and undergraduate college students.
  • We have outpatient and IOP levels of care and provide multidisciplinary treatment team approach.
  • We are located in Bellefield Towers in Oakland.
  • We are looking for a flex-full-time therapist to join our team to provide assessment, lead COSTAR IOP skills groups and carry individual caseload.
  • We will provide additional specialized training and provide supervision for licensure.
  • This position will work Monday through Friday with three days working from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and two days working from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for our CO STAR IOP group.

Responsibilities

· Quality Assurance and Improvement: Participates in program activities to ensure quality and performance. · Clinical Documentation: Completes documentation on the same day of service and provides necessary information for service authorization. · Case Reviews: Periodically reviews cases and discusses significant clinical changes with the team. · Patient Assessment: Assesses and updates patient needs and incorporates them into treatment plans. · New Patient Assessments: Conducts assessments under supervision and makes clinical decisions regarding treatment and referrals. · Therapy and Education: Provides individual and group therapy, engages families, and educates patients on recovery. · Documentation: Records all assessments, treatment sessions, and other patient-related work. · Service Referrals: Discusses additional service needs with the clinical team and refers patients to appropriate resources. · Team Meetings: Participates in regular meetings to review and update treatment plans and monitor progress. · Productivity Records: Maintains daily records of clinical productivity. · Treatment Planning: Creates comprehensive treatment plans addressing a variety of patient needs. Provides individual and family therapy to patients in the program home, school, community settings and engages families in the assessment and treatment processes when indicated. Provides education to patients on recovery as appropriate. Potential for up to 50%25 time, with increased support as needed, in a classroom/milieu setting providing early childhood mental health consultation to early childhood care providers.

· Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code) · One year of clinical experience preferred. · Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred. · Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.
