• Summary: The Counselor-Future Teacher Program/Summer Learning Academy is for a high school junior/senior or early college student interested in pursuing a career in Teacher. This position works directly with students under the direction of a Lead Teacher and Para to provide high quality and engaging instruction as well as attends various professional development session to learn about the field of Teaching. Responsibilities Attend mandatory pre-summer professional development. In coordination with the teacher, deliver intentional and engaging academic instruction to students with focus on mitigating school year learning loss/preventing summer learning loss Provide small group or individual student support. Help ensure all outcome goals are on track to be met, including academic outcomes and social-emotional skill development outcomes. Assist with classroom management of students. Assist and supervise campers in all aspects of self-care, including dressing and undressing, eating, grooming and hygiene, toileting, and any other areas of daily living. If your camper is self-sufficient in these areas, close supervision and monitoring are still required. Attend professional development sessions. Other duties as assigned.
