  • Working under the direction of classroom teachers, administration, and support staff, the paraprofessional assists students with diverse learning, behavioral, or developmental needs while helping maintain a structured, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.
  • Job Responsibilities

Provide direct support to assigned student(s) or small groups as directed by teachers or support staff Assist in implementing instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications Reinforce academic skills and classroom expectations in a positive manner Support students with organization, focus, task completion, and transitions Assist with classroom instruction, guided practice, and intervention activities Help students develop appropriate behavioral, social, and self-regulation skills Support implementation of behavior plans, routines, and expectations Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and redirection Foster respectful, positive relationships with students while maintaining consistency Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administration to support student needs Communicate observations regarding student progress and challenges Maintain confidentiality of student and school information Support the Catholic mission by modeling Christian values and participating in prayer and school faith activities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and teamwork Follow school policies and complete required compliance training

Job Requirements

High school diploma required; associate’s degree, certification, or related coursework preferred Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or related settings preferred Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction from teachers and staff Patience, flexibility, and a positive, professional attitude Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively engage with students throughout the day Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist students as needed
