About the role

The instructor will provide Cisco networking instruction for Advanced Router Configuration and Configuring LAN Switches courses. Responsibilities include maintaining class records, submitting grade reports, and adhering to college policies.

Position Summary

SUNY Ulster is currently accepting applications for part-time adjunct teaching assignments in our Cisco-based Network Administrator A.A.S. program. Coverage is sought for NET202 Advanced Router Configuration and NET206 Configuring LAN Switches which are scheduled to meet face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:00 pm on the main Stone Ridge campus. The courses each run for seven weeks with NET202 from August 24 – October 13 and NET206 from October 14-December 7, 2026. Under the general supervision of the Networking Coordinator in the STEM Department, the adjunct instructor will provide Cisco networking instruction in accordance with established course syllabi along with departmental and college policies. Course descriptions may be viewed in the SUNY Ulster Catalog at catalog.sunyulster.edu.

Duties and Responsibilities

A commitment to meet on campus during each scheduled class session and to teach or conduct learning exercises for the entire time period. Contact the appropriate division chair or administrator in advance to make arrangements for unavoidable absences. Provide each student, and the academic department, with a Course Outline derived from the official course syllabus at the beginning of the course. The outline will include contact information, topics covered, and information about how the student will be assessed as per departmental guidelines. Accurately keep required class records on attendance, withdrawal, and grading. Submit when due, all necessary reports such as attendance and grade reports, roll books, and class information sheets, and certify their accuracy. Comply with all institutional policies, procedures, and deadlines. Give careful attention to all departmental and administrative communications by checking your SUNY Ulster email frequently.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in networking or closely related field. Previous teaching experience, preferably at a community college. Experience with CISCO networking

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Brightspace learning management system. CISCO networking certifications

Salary

$1049.00 per contact hour.

Requirements

A Master's degree in networking or a related field is required, along with experience in Cisco networking and previous teaching experience. Cisco certifications and familiarity with Brightspace are preferred.
