About the Role

As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Bellflower, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Bellflower, CA Schedule: 6 hours per month; 1 day a week 1.5 hours Rate is between $25 and $35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Active teaching credential required Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD Strong background in direct instruction, lesson planning, and academic intervention Skilled in teaching math concepts, math word problems, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and writing development Experience supporting executive functioning skills, including organization, task completion, attention, and study strategies Able to create and provide individualized learning materials with measurable goals and milestones Patient, engaging, structured, and confident in providing firm redirection Comfortable supporting students who experience distractibility, overstimulation, and frustration during academic tasks Familiarity with educational platforms such as Google Classroom and IXL Strong classroom management and behavioral support strategies preferred Key Responsibilities: Conduct an academic assessment to identify current skill levels and instructional priorities Provide individualized instruction in ELA and Math aligned to the student’s learning needs Teach math concepts and word problem-solving strategies using structured, step-by-step instruction Support reading fluency, comprehension, and writing development, including grammar, organization, conventions, and paragraph structure Reinforce executive functioning skills such as attention regulation, organization, planning, and task persistence Develop and implement structured lesson plans with measurable academic goals and progress milestones Maintain a calm, engaging, and highly structured learning environment with clear expectations and consistent routines Provide firm but supportive redirection to help maintain focus and participation Incorporate built-in breaks and pacing strategies to reduce frustration and support regulation Integrate the student’s interests, including DJ’ing, sports, and video games, into lessons to increase motivation and engagement Monitor progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support growth and confidence Why Tutor Me Education?
