Job description

Franklin University, an accredited, private, not-for-profit institution in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking adjunct faculty for the Family and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner programs. The School of Nursing is looking for part-time adjunct instructors to help prepare the next generation of Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioners (AGPCNPs). Anticipated openings begin in January 2025, with qualified candidates added to a pool for future consideration. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for teaching specific courses within the online FNP and AGPCNP programs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction and foster a supportive, engaging learning environment.
  • Facilitate both asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences.
  • Efficiently manage assigned courses, ensuring timely communication and grading.
  • Cultivate an inclusive, welcoming, and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Address and assist in resolving student concerns related to course content and instruction.
  • Provide feedback and participate in course evaluations as needed.

Education/Experience Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • At least 2 years of current clinical practice as an APRN.
  • Minimum 1 year of online teaching experience in a graduate nursing program.
  • Current unencumbered RN nursing license and APRN certification in the state of employment.
  • National APRN certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
  • Experience with asynchronous teaching.
  • Compact or multi-state license.
