Position Summary

Person in this position will provide abstinence education, HIV and STI prevention education, and outreach for middle school youth in the I Lina’la-Hu (My Life) Sexual Risk Avoidance Education program. This person will also facilitate linkages to care as needed and follow up with program participants to ensure care is received. Essential Job Functions: Deliver Love Notes curriculum in middle school-based setting; Facilitate meetings and other groups; Track attendance, maintain records, and work with Evaluator and Research Assistant in data compilation Complete support documentation; Maintain youth in care through peer mentorship activities and making necessary referrals to support services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, emergency housing assistance, employment training, and others; Assure confidentiality of HIV-testing records as required by state and federalstatutes; Assist in coordinating transportation for youth to get to and from appointments and support groups; Work in collaboration with Program Coordinator to co-facilitate support groups and other activities for youth Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and All other duties as assigned QualificationsEssential Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of college-level education is required. Two (2) years of alcohol and other drug counseling experience may be substituted for one (1) year of college-level education. No more than one (1) year of college-level education may be substituted with alcohol and other drug counseling experience.
