The mission of CCHS, in partnership with the home, is to provide a college preparatory education, immersed in a biblical worldview, that prepares our students to impact the world for Christ.
Ministerial function
Every Employee at Calvary Christian High School, whether a teacher, administrator, or staff member, is charged with playing a formative role in the spiritual lives of every student, their parents, and other CCHS Employees. Such responsibility includes praying with others, leading a class or in devotions, actively engaging in Biblical Integration through training and day-to-day implementation, sharing the Gospel with students and parents, and providing spiritual guidance. The duties of this position at CCHS shall not only include non-religious, secular responsibilities, but shall include religious responsibilities with a heart for the soul of every student, parent and co-worker. Role responsibilities
- Overview: Faculty will be responsible for fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment, preparing students for success in college and life through the acquisition and application of a Biblical Worldview according to the mission of CCHS.
- Curriculum
- Development: Design and implement a comprehensive, college-oriented curriculum that is clearly aligned with a Biblical Worldview and CCHS designated academic standards, ensuring diverse learning styles and abilities are served.
- Instructional
- Delivery: Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that stimulate student interest, promote analytical thinking, and encourage active participation in the courses assigned by school administration.
- Individualized
- Support: Provide personalized guidance to students, offering academic assistance, mentorship, and support to help them achieve their full potential and God’s plan for their lives.
- Technology
- Integration: Use of school provided technology and associated platforms to enhance instruction, promote communication and collaboration.
- Assessment and
- Feedback: Create fair and constructive assessments to evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback to promote continuous improvement.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with colleagues, department heads, and administrators to align instructional strategies, share best practices, and contribute to the school's overall academic goals.

- Duties: Execute professional duties assigned by Administration to support the safety, management and flow of students & guests on our campus.

At the minimum, this means: In manner, word, and action, support the administration and your colleagues Do not air issues of your preference about decisions of leadership ii. This might also include: Not engaging in discussion about policy rationale with students or parents Refraining from public critique of leadership Support of a positive workplace culture and employee relationships
Participate in Christian ministry At the minimum, this means
- Attend CCHS chapel weekly, arriving on time, sitting with students Include Biblical integration in class meetings Participate as assigned to CCHS spiritual initiatives Be a member of a local church and attend regularly
- This might also include: Attending outside campus ministry events (Student Night of Worship, etc.) Participating in school led mission trips or sponsoring a student Serving as a class sponsor, coach, or other such support role Attending faculty Bible study or leading a student Bible study
Invest in professional growth At the minimum, this means
- Maintain ACSI certification Identify and pursue growth goals Attend faculty meetings & required trainings and conferences
- This might also include: Seeking additional education or training related to teaching Remaining active in reading professional literature about content/instructional practice
Maintain confidentiality At the minimum, this means
- Do not share class averages on assignments, student information or grades with students, parents, etc. Do not discuss the performance of other employees with parents or students. Secure school laptops and information on devices Do not share special student needs or student accommodations, or other privileged school information here or at home
- This might also include: Secure and do not share professional emails, memos, or communication Do not discuss student behavior issues, travel plans, absences, etc.
Guard the safety and security of students At the minimum, this means
- Consider the constant safety of students your baseline responsibility Do not change assigned location of class without prior approval by the administration Respond to directives by security personnel & administration Know and implement security responses when needed ii.
- This might also include: Keeping students from engaging in activities that could result in injury to themselves or others Intervening to prevent or stop comments or statements that would reflect a culture of discrimination or personal attack Addressing violation of campus security protocol if encountered Supervising students closely as groups move about campus during transitions or special events Participating in fire, weather or crisis drills
Supervise students and address conduct At the minimum, this means
- Maintain constant supervision and clear awareness of the location of all students under your care at all times Maintain correct attendance records Do not permit any activity that violates campus behavior and conduct policies
- This might also include: Being familiar with the Parent/Student handbook Communicating behavior issues via PT Conference Tab to Administration Enforcing dress code as needed Checking on a student that has been in the restroom or out of class for an extended period of time Not allowing joking or play that is suggestive of violence, weapons, cultural/racial/gender discrimination, sexual innuendo, substance abuse, etc. Model and address improper public behavior at events, during prayer, assemblies, etc.
Prepare for professional assignment At the minimum, this means
- Maintain and submit accurate and thorough lesson plans
- Submit completed lesson plans by 7:30 am every Monday Be prepared with necessary materials and resources in advance of your class meeting Maintain proper test protocol and follow assessment schedule Be available during planning periods as needed to provide collegial coverage of other classes, meet with Administration, team members, etc.
- This might also include: Keeping classrooms organized and neat Keep information/materials for substitute teachers updated Provide substitute teachers with appropriate material if you are absent Refraining from conducting personal business during class time Following instructional expectations as they are set forth Responding to internal email invitations in a timely manner
Maintain appropriate communication At the minimum, this means
- Maintaining professional speech, tone, demeanor and facial expressions during conversations with students, parents, colleagues, and administration 2. Responding to internal and external emails within 24 hours No posting of school related activities on your personal social media account Maintaining Renweb email as the avenue of communication in all school related matters.
- This might also include: Maintaining clear professional boundaries when texting students or parents Using school email information only for professional topics Sign out at front desk if leaving during lunch, and returning prior to the next class assignment time Being judicious about what you say in your role and representative of CCHS both here at school and in your personal life in the community
Comply with Faculty Handbook At the minimum, this means
- Read and understand the Employee Handbook ii.
- This might also include: Read and understand the Parent/Student Handbook Ask questions to clarify your understanding of any policy or issues in advance
Demonstrate a willing spirit and cooperative attitude to fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by the school administration for the effective and efficient operation of the school.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor’s degree (preferred in education or field of study related to teaching load) Preferred 3+ years of experience in education ACSI Certification required (or ability to obtain certification within 1 year of hire) Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills Excellent skills in managing details, deadlines, and large quantities of information in a proactive, timely, organized, and effective manner Able to work independently Able to work collaboratively with others Desire for and demonstrated ability to engage in continuing educational opportunities Comfortable learning and using new educational technology as put forth by CCHS SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS Have a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and seek to model Him in speech, actions, and attitude. Set an example of the importance of prayer, reading the Bible, and faithful local church attendance. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff. Show support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in the task. Encourage students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith. Emphasize to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support School Administration in carrying out the mission of the school. Maintain confidentiality in all school-related matters.
