- Classroom Teaching Aide Serves assigned classrooms and teachers High school diploma or GED required; preference given to associates degree or prior experience Part-time (.73 FTE; Average 40 Hours/Week for 10-Month School Term) Opportunity to expand to full-time if summer work work is desired Summary of Position Abundant Life Christian School is seeking a caring and active individual to work as a part of our team of Teaching Aides in a service-oriented position, providing a day- to-day support to both teachers and students.

- We seek confirmation that s/he: Has received Jesus Christ as her/his personal Savior Believes that the Bible is God's Holy Word and the standard for faith and daily living Agrees with the school's Statement of Faith Serve as a Godly role-model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others Attend as a member in good standing at a local church Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership and integrity to "train up a child in the way he should go" Required Qualifications Our Teaching Aides shall meet the minimum qualifications for the job: Show evidence of Christian maturity and a strong grasp of the essence of Christian education Have a love of children and heart to serve others Demonstrates the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and timeliness Meet everyday stress with prayerful consideration, emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance Respectfully submit and be loyal to authority Refuse to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately; avoid gossip and practice Biblical conflict resolution (Matthew 18) Primary Responsibilities Our Teaching Aides shall assist our school by providing support to teachers and students in the classroom and on the playground as needed.
- Responsibilities include: Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity Help teachers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up equipment Supervise the room when the classroom teacher is out of the room or engaged in individualized instruction Support teachers by partnering for classroom/behavior management Give extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a concept Collaborate with the teacher to identify students’ issues or needs and recommend solutions Lead and support student free time on the playground Enforce playground rules and maintain safety of students on playground; provide discipline in accord with school policy Supervise and assist students with lunch, as needed or assigned Maintain professional attitude while interacting with students, faculty, staff and parents Treat all children with dignity and respect Participate in professional development, team meetings, staff meetings, and other opportunities to grow spiritually, enrich/enhance knowledge of childhood education, etc.
- Recognize the need for good public relations; represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school's constituency and general public Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature Other duties as assigned MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate effectively with school personnel of all levels Ability to handle multiple tasks Ability to prioritize and organize Ability to work alone and as part of a team Ability to reach, stoop, bend, pull and occasionally carry up to 20 pounds
