The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards. They must support the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development of preschool children while maintaining strong communication with families.
Candidates must hold at least an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. A minimum of 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool-age children is required.
Preschool Teacher A – $23.99- $26.65 hourly ($26.38- $29.32 hourly in Metro locations) Associate’s degree in o Early childhood education or child development; or o Any field and coursework equivalent1 to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children. Preschool Teacher B -$25.67- $28.52 hourly ($29.42- $31.37 hourly in Metro locations) Bachelor’s degree or higher in o Early childhood education or child development; or o Any field and coursework equivalent2 to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children. 1 Oregon Registry Step 9 or higher per degree or college coursework pathway 2 Oregon Registry Step 10 or higher per degree or college coursework pathway Metro locations include Washington County and Multnomah County sites.
