  • Summary: Assist Aquatics Director & Lifeguard with teaching and responsible for the general welfare and safety of the campers while in the pool.
  • Essential Functions: Assist Lifeguards and Aquatics Director in day to day activities.
  • Assist in pool (not to be used as a lifeguard).
  • Participate in pool activities and games.
  • Provide a one to one relationship with specific campers.
  • Be aware of general health of assigned campers.
  • Help with clean-up in pool and shower area.
  • Report any medical problems or incidents to Aquatics Director.
  • Run errands when needed and other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in quality assurance and compliance activities as requested.
  • Non-essential Functions: Provides supervision and assistance to campers during lunch and at times when the pool is closed.
  • Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to: Aquatics Director Supervisory Responsibilities: None exercised Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to provide consistent feedback and reinforcement to children.
  • Able to work in collaboration with other pool and camp staff.
  • Training provided on maintenance and operation of the pool as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be physically and mentally fit to provide developmentally appropriate care for and supervision of young children.
  • Must have the physical abilities and stamina to participate in children's play and sustain active work throughout the day.
  • Work with children requires: Ability to walk or run quickly Ability sit on the floor or in child-sized chairs for extended periods of time; Ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to maintain eye contact with children; Ability to walk on rough or uneven ground Ability to lift children (per provided training only) Ability to work in cold or hot outdoor conditions Ability to maintain the safety of the environment and children through visual, auditory, olfactory and tactile senses Must be able to move quickly and react calmly in response to an emergency Must exhibit good judgment in matters concerning the health and safety of children Working conditions: Camp environment, partially indoors/outdoors, pool setting.

Must be at least 16 years of age.
