Job Description

In this role, the Prevention Specialist has responsibility for delivering prevention services in schools and community settings and completing indirect services in support of the prevention goals and objectives as directed by the Prevention Manager.

Schedule Details

  • Part-time:
  • Monday through
  • Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (some evenings and weekends required)

Location: Media, PA

Work Environment: Work is primarily conducted in schools and community settings

Program: Prevention Planning

Pay Rate: $19+/hour (Based on education and experience)

Job Functions

  • Deliver evidence-based prevention curricula in school and virtual settings
  • Facilitate engaging classroom lessons and discussions with students
  • Conduct one-time presentations for students, faculty, and school staff
  • Provide mentorship through one-on-one and small group sessions
  • Build positive relationships with students, educators, and community partners
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all direct services for data collection and reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with team members to support program goals and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with youth in educational or community settings preferred
  • Ability to facilitate groups and engage diverse audiences
  • Commitment to promoting healthy behaviors and prevention education
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to travel between sites
  • Ability to manage documentation and reporting requirements tied to program funding

Minimum Requirements

Education

B.A. or M.A in education/or health discipline preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth or families in a related setting

Experience: Prior experience working with youth or families

Licensure/Certifications: None Required

Clearances

Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, and verification that the employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list

Note

At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
