Position Summary
Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluateslife support education and skill validation forteam members, learners, and physicians to ensure current knowledge and practices align with American Heart Association (AHA) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) standards.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs.
- Provides general and population-specific education to supportsafe, efficient, and competent practitioners.
- Demonstratesfamiliarity and competency with the current Learning Management System (LMS)
- Participates in specialty-specific, site-specific, or corporate committees and/or educational initiatives that influence organizational strategic imperatives.
- Cleans, decontaminates, and maintains equipment in accordance with OH and the AHA safety standards.
- Demonstrates professional accountability through involvement in multidisciplinary organizations.
- Facilitates professional development of team members through the utilization of educational curriculum.
- Assessesinternal and externalreported data and evaluation feedback to determine future education opportunitiesthat impact professional practice gaps and support organizational initiatives.
- Provides educational materials, curriculum, and resourcesto maintain ongoing knowledge and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Utilizes critical thinking and knowledge assessments to outline educational development plans for team members.
- Adheresto all American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and American Academy ofPediatrics(AAP)rules and regulations.
- Provides class rosters and records in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) and Orlando Health guidelines.
- Identifies and supportslearner’s life support needs and adjusts teaching strategies accordingly.
- Identifies and validates appropriate ecards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

- Functions:
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Serves as a liaison and informal consultant to other Orlando Health departments committees regarding educational efforts.
- Participates in process improvement activities as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Creates and maintains an active membership through the American Heart Association’s Instructor Network.
- Distributes and administers AHA approved examinations, providing appropriate remediation and re-testing as applicable.
- Participates in ongoing education and updates as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider and instructor certification.
- Maintain current ACLS and/or PALS Instructor certification (advanced courses only).
Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred
