About the Role
Join our passionate team at Little Cub Academy LLC as a Lead Two-Year-Old Teacher! This rewarding opportunity allows you to guide and support toddlers during one of the most important stages of early childhood development. We are looking for a nurturing, patient, and energetic teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences through play, exploration, and positive relationships.
As the Lead Teacher in our Two-Year-Old classroom, you will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports social-emotional growth, independence, communication skills, and early learning foundations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and classroom activities tailored to the developmental needs of two-year-old children.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through positive guidance and redirection strategies.
- Maintain consistent classroom routines and promote independence with self-help skills.
- Observe and assess children’s development and communicate progress or concerns with families and leadership.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, daily reports, and classroom documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with administration and teaching staff to support curriculum planning and center initiatives.
- Mentor and support assistant teachers within the classroom.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and training opportunities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Completion of Early Childhood Education coursework required.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
- Passion for supporting young children during critical early developmental years.
- Background check clearance required prior to employment.
