Hopes Promise Respite is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Mentor/Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities at our after school programs. The right candidates will be ready to bring their skills where they're needed to support children with developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you’ll make a meaningful difference every day—helping individuals live more independently, engage in their communities, and achieve their personal goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and team members
  • Promote independence, dignity, and inclusion in every interaction
  • Implement planned activities at community locations (weekly set schedule including trampoline park, library, and YMCA)
  • Interact with children and families
  • Be available to help students with homework
  • Maintain the safety of the students
  • Maintain accurate records of students including any safety or behavioral issues
  • Maintain compliance with all program standards

Qualifications

  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to empowering others
  • Experience with youth with individual/developmental disabilities and behaviors
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
