About the role

The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 12 students, creating aligned lesson plans, and providing direct classroom instruction. Responsibilities also include supervising Instructional Assistants/RBTs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and evaluating program delivery through data review.

TERI is looking for a Certified Special Education Teacher to join our Learning Academy, a Non-Public School serving students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

Develop and implement IEPs for a caseload of 12 students.

Develop lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with IEP goals and data collection protocols.

Provide direct classroom instruction and train Instructional Assistants/RBTs on classroom instruction.

Prepare for new student intake and assessments.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a small, structured setting to meet individual goals.

Participate in student meetings such as IEP meetings, behavior plan discussions, and administrative planning.

Evaluate program delivery by reviewing data, assessing staff performance, and refining program designs.

Supervise RBTs/Instructional Assistants, including timecard management and performance reviews.

Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior intervention with BCBA & RBTs.

Maintain the safety, rights, and overall well-being of all students at all times.

Qualifications

  • –
  • Must possess a valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Moderate/Severe Disabilities with Extensive Support Needs (ESN) authorization; alternatively, an Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Support Needs with Autism Authorization may also be considered.
  • Must have at least one year of experience working with students with special needs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a clean driving record for the past two years.

Salary –

$69,888-$83,388 Annually

Position Status –

Full-Time: Schedule –

Monday to Friday | 8: 00am to 4:00pm

Our school operates year-round, closing only for major holidays, one week during winter break, and two weeks during summer break. Our Extended School Year (ESY) schedule provides full-day instruction, offering more comprehensive support than traditional ESY programs.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential, preferably with Moderate/Severe Disabilities with Extensive Support Needs (ESN) authorization, or Mild/Moderate Support Needs with Autism Authorization.
