Position Type: World Language - Spanish Teacher Report To: Principal Status: Full-Time

  • Job Summary The duties of a World Language (Spanish)Teacher include creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers and other professionals, and participating in campus events.
  • Candidates should be passionate about teaching and celebrating the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

  • Essential Functions Organize and maintain classroom and equipment in functioning order.
  • Create a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning through organization and planning.
  • Teach and apply safety principles as part of all instruction.
  • Maintain student records including all required paperwork.
  • Demonstrate appropriate planning and the use of a variety of instructional instruction techniques and strategies.
  • Communicate with students, parents or guardians, and other staff, maintaining an open positive relationship as appropriate to provide guidance and evaluation, and to encourage student achievement.
  • Establishes classroom goals and objectives, in conformation with courses of study specified by State and School District statutes, regulations and guidelines.
  • Evaluates and records student progress; prepares reports for parents or guardians.
