Assistant Teacher – Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classrooms

The Learning Experience – Byron Center is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a safe, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and being part of a collaborative early childhood education team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities Support developmentally appropriate experiences for children across age groups Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers Prepare classroom materials and support group activities Encourage positive social interaction and classroom participation Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required Prior childcare experience preferred Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
