The Goddard School located at 900 Gaither Rd. Rockville, MD, is seeking a motivated, caring and dependable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team!

As a Part-Time Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging learning experiences, maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment and helping children learn through play and exploration.

Schedule
Part-Time Position – Approximately 25 hours per week Scheduled Hours
1:00-6:00PM
Part-Time Assistant Teacher Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through positive interactions and active engagement Help maintain a safe, clean, organized and welcoming classroom environment Supervise children and provide individualized support as needed Support classroom routines including meals, diapering/toileting, transitions and playground supervision Assist with daily communication and relationship-building with families Follow all health, safety and licensing regulations Work collaboratively with teachers and administration to create a positive school culture
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare, preschool or educational setting preferred Warm, patient and nurturing personality Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work independently and responsibly Basic understanding of child development Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children Must meet state licensing requirements, including background checks and required credentials Why Join Our School?
