Full-Time School Social Worker (K–2) – 2026–2027 School Year | Maternity Leave Coverage
Step into a tight-knit elementary community and support some of its youngest learners as a full-time School Social Worker for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a maternity leave coverage position running from August 2026 through November 2027, offering stability, purpose, and the chance to make a real impact on early elementary students.
In this role, you’ll serve a manageable K–2 caseload of approximately 27 students, providing direct and indirect social-emotional support, collaborating with teachers and related service staff, and participating in IEP and team meetings. You will help students build foundational skills in self-regulation, social problem-solving, and school adjustment so they can thrive in the classroom and beyond.
You’ll work on-site throughout the school week, engaging with students, families, and staff to identify needs, design interventions, and support a positive school climate. Requirements: Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
Or willingness to obtain the IL PEL with Social Work endorsement prior to the start of the assignment (license reimbursement available)
Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program (school social work track preferred)
Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric/child-focused environment is strongly preferred
