We’re looking for a K3 Educational Assistant who shares this belief and is ready to help our youngest scholars thrive. What You’ll Do As a K3 Educational Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our youngest learners and helping to maintain a joyful, high-achieving classroom.
- Working closely with the lead teacher, you will: Provide individualized and small group instruction to support academic growth Build meaningful relationships with scholars and their families Supervise scholars during breakfast, lunch, recess, and transitions Step into the lead role when the teacher is absent and in other ways as requested Set an example by modeling the high standards we expect from our scholars Ensure each child leaves with parent or authorized person Maintain an accurate student count at all times (Staff/Child Ratio) Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher/or Director Assist with planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies Supervise bathroom breaks, hand-washing, and all other activities to ensure safety at all times. Help with the general housekeeping tasks that includes laundering cot sheets weekly and maintaining a neat and organized classroom Attend all staff meetings, one on one meetings, and recommended training programs and conferences Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds and bending frequently throughout the day QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring We’re looking for someone who is passionate about education and committed to student success.
- To qualify, you should have: Required Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification (completed coursework or equivalent in Intro to Childcare and Skills & Strategies) Annual certification in Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting (completed before working with scholars) Prior experience working with children, preferably in an early childhood setting An unshakable belief in every child’s potential and the determination to help them achieve CPR and Abusive Head Trauma Training (Shaking Baby Syndrome) Why Join Milwaukee College Prep?
