Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity where you can improve the lives of children? Crittenton Children’s Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to join our team. This is an intake position into the field of child welfare. Position provides an opportunity to help families visit, help parents enhance their parenting skills, and help a families reunify. Full-time, Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. Work hours are dependent on families they are assigned. Schedules are adjusted as needed to make up 40 hrs. Day can start as early as 8am and end as late as 8:30-9 pm (that is pretty late and not the norm). Must be independent worker with willingness to be flexible with work hours based upon the needs of the families they serve. Utilization of evidence-based programing focusing on Attachment Self-Regulation and competency through classroom curriculum. Providing classroom educational trainings to biological parents as well as one on one parenting instruction and education. Distributing pre and post testing to all participants in Family Engagement Program. Presenting outcome information to program director. Provide monthly written progress notes on families assigned as well as comprehensive quarterly reports for court. Research of area community resources and connecting families based upon their need. Supervision of parent child visits as ordered by the court. Transportation of children to and from visitation. Weekly communication with case manager and resource provider regarding the progress of visits, concerns and any noted changes. Main activity is to pick up child/children from their placements and transport them to an agreed upon location to supervise a visit with their parents. Child/children are then returned to their placements. Observation of the visits will be noted in weekly visit reports and a monthly summary will be completed. 1 hour of parent education will be provided weekly on each case. Why Saint Luke’s?
