The Specialist provides academic reinforcement and personalized remediation plans to nursing students to ensure success in their programs and the NCLEX-RN exam. They also manage clinical learning labs, facilitate simulation-based experiences, and provide individual or group tutoring.
A Bachelor's degree in nursing and a current, unencumbered RN license are required, along with BLS CPR and BLS CPR instructor certification. A Master's degree in Education or Nursing and experience in an academic environment are preferred.

ResponsibilitiesFacilitation of simulation-based experiences (SBE) and labs to include equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, set-up and clean-upDemonstrates current, detailed, accurate knowledge of concepts tested by the NCLEX-RN as well as currency in nursing practice to provide academic supporto Assists in the creation of Next Generation NCLEX activities/workshopsDemonstrates effective behaviors and accountability in meeting the following standards of service excellence to students, fellow team members, and external agencies: Friendliness and courtesy, professional environment, effective communication, and first-class serviceCommunicates and documents (reporting) students’ academic and co-curricular progress toward achievement of student and program learning outcomes to academic leadership (i.e., retention committee)Assists in developing and implementing detailed clinically based scenarios for the simulated learning experiences, including use of high-fidelity patient simulatorsCoordinates and supervises lab experiences to ensure that students have the opportunity to meet course objectivesStaffs open lab; Provides individual oversight to students during practice and/or remediation of technical nursing skills as required by course objectivesIndividual or group tutoringParticipates in outreach to students with at-risk referralsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in nursing Required andMaster's Degree in Education Preferred orMaster's Degree Nursing Preferred1+ year year experience in an academic environment supporting classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support PreferredExcellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate via telephone, computer, and in person.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Must have excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).Must be a team player, willing to share and exchange.Maintenance of a current, unencumbered RN license Required andBLS CPR Required andBLS CPR instructor certification; Required andACLS and /or PALS Preferred
#CVSAAdditional InformationIn support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199.33 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
