ISP Key Responsibilities Teach students using Montessori methods, cultivating an independent, student-centered learning environment supported by thoughtfully prepared materials tailored to each developmental stage. Encourage curiosity, intrinsic motivation, and self-directed exploration. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with the school’s Montessori-based curriculum. Ensure instruction is intentional, differentiated, and responsive to individual student needs and learning styles. Collaborate effectively with instructional staff, school personnel, and families to strengthen student outcomes and support the achievement of classroom and school-wide goals aligned to the mission and vision. Participate actively in meetings, professional learning communities, and ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices and improve student achievement. Maintain accurate, thorough, and up-to-date records of student progress, development, and performance to inform instruction and support meaningful communication with stakeholders. Contribute to the broader school community by participating in extracurricular and school-sponsored events such as open houses, graduations, family engagement activities, and PTO functions. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Uphold professional standards through strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, professionalism, and dedication to the overall success of the school. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Skills Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and upper elementary child development Excellent classroom management and organizational skills Ability to facilitate inquiry-based, project-based, and collaborative learning experiences Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills Ability to foster student independence, leadership, and accountability Ability to differentiate instruction and support a variety of learning styles and developmental needs Collaborative and team-oriented mindset Qualifications Montessori certification 3-6 years-old (AMS, AMI, MACTE, or equivalent) or willing to obtain Bachelors Degree in education or related field Experience working with children Associate in early childhood, education or related field preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred Experience - Preferred Experience in Montessori Years Group Experience creating and maintaining a prepared Montessori classroom environment Experience facilitating project-based, inquiry-driven, or experiential learning opportunities Experience collaborating with families, educational teams, and support staff Physical Requirements: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking, and standing.
