Direct Intervention: Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques (e.g., Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Training) to support student goals outlined in IEPs. Data Collection & Analysis: Accurately track, record, and graph behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC data) using school-based data systems to monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Crisis Management: De-escalate student behaviors using research-based strategies; provide safe physical holds only when students exhibit behaviors that are unsafe to themselves or others, in strict accordance with training and school policy.
Maintain strict confidentiality in adherence to FERPA and HIPAA laws; fulfill standards of professionalism including appropriate dress, attendance, and timeliness.
Certification: Active National Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the BACB is required to be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
