- Summary: The Day Habilitation Aide assists in promoting the growth and development of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing direct support and implementing developmental activities. This role focuses on enhancing sensory-motor, communication, social, independent living, affective, and behavioral skills through a team-based, multi-disciplinary approach, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. ***This role is Relief/As Needed**
- Key
- Responsibilities: Client Support & Development Implement individual and group developmental activities under the supervision of the Program Director or Lead Aide. Assist with client transportation and transfers, using safe handling techniques. This can be in a personal or KDC vehicle. Support clients in daily activities, encouraging independence while maintaining a structured and safe environment. Implement teaching strategies aligned with Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals and behavior plans, including PBS. Encourage and support clients in making independent choices whenever possible. Data Collection & Documentation Accurately collect and record data regarding client activities, progress, and behavioral outcomes. Communicate observations to the team and assist in documenting client progress. Execute behavior management plans, including PBS strategies, and maintain documentation for clinical review. Safety & Environment Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Monitor for potential hazards and respond promptly to safety concerns. Follow agency protocols in emergency situations, ensuring the safety of all participants and staff. Promote a culture of safety while assisting clients in all activities. Team Collaboration & Communication Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, group supervision, and individual supervision sessions. Communicate professionally and clearly in both written and verbal formats. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure program goals and client needs are met. Other Duties Identify local community resources and assist clients in accessing needed supports. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency and program standards. Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned, prioritizing participant safety, growth, and well-being.

- QualificationsRequired
- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities or in a similar human services role. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships. Ability to follow individualized plans and provide person-centered support. Ability to complete and maintain CPR/FA and SafetyCare certifications. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in human services or related field. Experience in implementing behavior management programs. Additional coursework or training related to developmental disabilities, special education, or behavioral interventions.
