Job description

Chaplain - On-call

*Applicants must live within a 30-mile radius of Meritus Medical Center

*Hourly rate $23.74

*Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

Under the supervision of the Director of Spiritual Care Services, the Chaplain provides spiritual care for patients, families, volunteers, and staff in the hospital; provides leadership for in-patient and community education and treatment programs; provides mentoring for clinical pastoral education trainees; and provides leadership for programs to support area clergy and faith communities so as to foster a relationship with the religious community.

Education – bachelor's degree in religion, theology or other related field required. Master of Divinity or equivalent; preferred. 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent--4 preferred.

Experience – Pastoral care, pastoral counseling, parish leadership, clinical education experience.

Licensure/Certification – Ordination and/or letter of endorsement by faith required. It is preferred the candidate hold a clinical chaplain board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or other professional chaplaincy organization.
