Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, the Benefits Administrator supports the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health and dental benefits, 401(k), open enrollment, leaves of absence, and WCB/Workers’ Compensation coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping employees, solving problems, working with details, and keeping important processes organized and on track.
- Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), employee assistance programs, and other applicable plans.
- Support benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, employment status changes, benefit terminations, and employee questions.
- Maintain accurate benefit information in ADP Workforce Now, benefit provider portals, and related systems.
- Support annual open enrollment, including employee communication, enrollment tracking, reporting, follow-up, and post-enrollment audits.
- Assist with 401(k) administration, including eligibility, enrollment support, contribution changes, payroll deduction coordination, and vendor file support.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions, arrears, refunds, and adjustments are processed accurately.
- Review benefit invoices, identify discrepancies, and work with providers, Payroll, Finance, and HR to resolve issues.
- Coordinate leaves of absence with the Company’s third-party administrator, including tracking leave status, supporting employee and manager questions, and updating HR, Payroll, and Operations as needed.
- Coordinate WCB/Workers’ Compensation claims administration, including claim tracking, documentation, return-to-work coordination, and payroll/benefit impacts.
- Prepare benefit, leave, WCB/Workers’ Compensation, census, audit, and open enrollment reports as required.
- Maintain accurate employee records and handle confidential employee, medical, benefits, leave, and claims-related information with discretion.
- Identify opportunities to improve benefit processes, data accuracy, employee experience, and administrative efficiency.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Benefits Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in benefits administration, HR administration, payroll, leave administration, or a related role.
- Experience supporting benefit plans such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and/or 401(k).
- Experience with open enrollment, multiple benefit providers, and vendor portals preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting leaves of absence and/or WCB/Workers’ Compensation administration preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
