Preschool Lead Teacher – School Readiness Classroom

The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking a qualified Preschool Lead Teacher to guide a classroom serving children ages 3–5 in a structured, engaging early childhood environment focused on kindergarten readiness and social-emotional development.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys leading a classroom team while creating meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and early academic foundations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily preschool classroom instruction and activities Support early literacy, math readiness, and problem-solving development Create a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment Guide assistant teachers and maintain classroom consistency Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom progress and milestones Implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences Maintain compliance with New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required Prior preschool classroom leadership experience preferred Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice Excellent classroom management and communication skills Must meet New York State childcare licensing requirements
