  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
  • Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW KIPP Jacksonville seeks lunch monitors for their K-8 campuses. Each lunch monitor works a daily shift during the lunch hours of students at the school to ensure the safety and well-being of the students, staff and school facilities.

During the daily shift, the lunch monitor will supervise students by

Ensuring that norms and expectations for the cafeteria are adhered to by using positive reinforcement, stating clear expectations for students, and following the school’s steps to manage all student behavior(s) Maintaining the schedule for grade levels (i.e. overseeing transitions, monitoring time, giving time warnings, etc.) Assist, as needed, to get students through the serving line Assist, as needed, to direct students to table(s) Warmly interacting with students while they eat To be successful in this role, candidates should enjoy spending time with elementary students, be flexible when needed, and excel at helping a schedule to run smoothly.
