Job description
Physical Therapist Responsibilities
- Assessments &
- Evaluations: Assess conditions related to genetic, developmental, neurological, and orthopedic disorders using advanced standardized tests like PDMS-2, BOT-2, and GMFM.
- Treatment
- Planning: Provide targeted therapy sessions focusing on range of motion, strength, postural control, balance, and functional mobility, including orthotic and adaptive equipment use for individuals aged birth to 22 years, as outlined in IEPs. Collaborate with the special education team to develop effective IEPs and IFSPs, aligning interventions with student needs and resources.
- Consultation &
- Instruction: Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and professional staff. Create and prescribe home activity programs, coach parents to support motor skill development, and serve as a district-wide physical therapy resource by providing training, consultation, and hands-on support. Collaborate with medical staff and assist school personnel with physical therapy services, while mentoring and ensuring compliance with best practices.

- Documentation: Complete annual and triennial reviews, ensure continued support and growth, and stay current with scope of practice, coding/billing practices, and compliant documentation. Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with administrative policies, state, and federal laws.

Physical Therapist Qualifications

- Certifications: Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state where services are delivered.

Physical Therapist Physical Demands
- Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
