Position Summary

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is seeking dedicated, intellectually curious and mission-driven educators who are open to growth, committed to equity and inclusion, and who reflect and/or celebrate our rich cultural diversity.

As part of the faculty, they will have an opportunity to continue to develop one of Baltimore’s most promising educational options for young people.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of best practices in the teaching and learning of Geometry as well as experience in the classroom or in education.

They will also have experience working with students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Reports to: School Principal

What You’ll Do

Teach 5 sections of Geometry/ Honors Geometry.

Be present and available for service to the school from 7:25 AM until 4:00 PM one day per week, 7:25 AM until 3:30 PM two days a week, and 7:25 until 3 PM the remaining days of the week.

To chaperone two student events such as testing, dances, or admissions interviews

To supervise one Saturday study hall.

To participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, parent-teacher conferences, substitute coverage, and professional development.

To follow gradebook guidelines, enter grades in a timely fashion, and submit end of quarter grades and comments on time.

Serve as an advisor to one advisory group

Communicate regularly with parents of students and advisees

Teach and act in a professional fashion, in accordance with the stated mission, objectives, and policies of the school as articulated in the Employee Handbook

Respect and help form the spiritual values of the students and support the Jesuit and Catholic identity of the school by exemplifying in his/her own actions the characteristics of Christian living, being a leader of prayer, and supporting the liturgical and spiritual life of the school

Model the school’s “Graduate at Graduation” statement and strive to support students in valuing and attaining these qualities

Actively implement the Code of Conduct/Disciplinary Procedures as outlined in Student Handbook

Contribute to a safe and clean environment by keeping classroom and work spaces clean and tidy, and by showing care for school property

Complete other and additional duties as assigned by the Principal

Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics; Master’s in Education or in Mathematics preferred

Strong teaching background and experience working with urban population

Personal commitment to Jesuit mission in education and work-study nature of the school

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their faith journeys.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration.

Experience in developing faith-based curriculum and lesson plans.

Familiarity with digital tools and resources for religious education.

Strong pastoral care skills, with a passion for nurturing students’ spiritual growth.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics is required, with a Master's in Education or Mathematics preferred. Candidates should have experience working with urban populations and a commitment to the Jesuit mission of education.
