The Fitness Specialist provides group and individual exercise instruction and education across various health programs, including Cardiac Rehab and Personal Training. They are also responsible for coordinating specific programs and assisting in the daily operations of the Healthworks department.
A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Physical Education, or Exercise Science is required, along with Basic Life Support certification. Preference is given to candidates with 2 years of clinical exercise experience and certifications as a Personal Trainer or Exercise Specialist.
The Fitness Specialist provides group and individual instruction and education to participants varying in age, ability and health status in the following programs: Cardiac Rehab, Safeway to Fitness, Personal Training, Transitional Exercise, Group Exercise, Youth Fitness, Bariatric, general membership and other programs offered through the department. The Fitness Specialist also coordinates one or more of these programs and assists the Healthworks team in the day to day operations of the department. Basic Life Support Required.
