Relationships

Internal

Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External

Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

Skills/Knowledge required

• High School diploma or GED, required.
• Degree in Childhood Education or 48 Early Childhood Education credits, required or a passing score on the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) test.
• Knowledge of youth development stages, is required.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment.
• Candidates must be 18 years or older.
• Valid State Driver License or California ID card.
• Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications within 90 of hire.

Physical requirements/Work environment

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carts, sports equipment, etc. and reach overhead.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and multi-task.
• The job requires about 85% walking and/or standing, and 15% sitting.
• This position will be in-person working at a Club House.
• Exposure to noise.
• Will work inside and outside.
