We’re seeking a mission‑driven and energetic Employment Training Specialist / Job Coach to support individuals with disabilities in finding, learning, and maintaining meaningful employment in the community. This role is essential in helping participants identify their strengths, develop job skills, secure employment, and succeed long‑term. Key Responsibilities

  • Employment Support & Coaching Spend at least 67% of the workday providing direct support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Conduct skills assessments, job site analyses, and identify work preferences.
  • Assist individuals with job applications, interview preparation, and job readiness tasks.
  • Provide on‑site job coaching, including training in job tasks, communication, workplace behavior, and safety.
  • Support employers in training individuals and gather performance feedback.
  • Develop natural workplace supports and gradually fade coaching as independence increases.
  • Provide follow‑along services through scheduled job site visits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold strict confidentiality.
  • Job Development & Employer Engagement Identify employment opportunities through employer outreach, online research, and community networking.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers.
  • Match individuals to appropriate job opportunities based on skills, interests, and needs.
  • Represent the agency professionally in all community settings.
  • Professionalism & Safety Maintain a high level of professionalism, communication, and customer service.
  • Ensure individuals are trained in workplace safety procedures.
  • Follow all agency safety‑sensitive protocols and confidentiality standards.
  • Adapt to a variety of work environments, including offices, warehouses, retail, food service, and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Knowledge of Rehabilitative Services, DRS, and DDS funding preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred. Public relations or marketing experience is a plus. Strong computer skills and ability to learn agency software systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently in community‑based settings.

Hiring Requirements

Must be 18 years or older. Must pass OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry, reference checks, drug test, and all required screenings. Must have Real ID compliant valid Driver’s License. Must have personal vehicle in good working condition. Must be able to maintain 50/100/50 liability insurance with business‑use endorsement naming DRTC as an interested third party. Must pass bi‑annual MVR checks. Standing up to 8 hours per day. Ability to lift 50 lbs vertically and/or 25 lbs horizontally. Frequent talking, listening, bending, stooping, grasping, and stretching. Must be able to perform CPR, First Aid, AED, Heimlich maneuver, and seizure care.
