Clinton Child Care Center - Clinton, TN 37716Position Summary The Part-Time Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This position assists with classroom activities, supervision, daily routines, and maintaining compliance with Tennessee DHS licensing standards and center policies. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
Classroom Support Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines. Support implementation of lessons, learning activities, and transitions. Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Assist children with meals, toileting, handwashing, and other daily needs. DHS Compliance & Safety Follow all Tennessee DHS licensing regulations and center policies. Maintain active supervision of children at all times. Assist in maintaining proper classroom ratios. Follow health, sanitation, and safety procedures. Report injuries, incidents, or concerns to the Lead Teacher or administration immediately. Participate in emergency drills and safety procedures. Teamwork & Professionalism Work cooperatively with classroom staff and administration. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Participate in required trainings and staff meetings as assigned. Accept guidance and direction from Lead Teachers and administration. Family Interaction Greet families and children in a warm and professional manner. Communicate respectfully with parents while referring major concerns to the Lead Teacher or administration. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school (if permitted by DHS regulations and center policy). Experience working with children preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass required background checks and screenings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work well with children and adults. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow directions and center procedures. Dependability and punctuality. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children. Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors. Ability to respond quickly in emergencies. Work Schedule Part-time schedule based on center operational needs.
