About the role

Teach residential general education courses in English and Writing within the Department of English. Responsibilities include managing classrooms, recording grades in Canvas, and adhering to university policies and mission.

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that ‎‎‎‎‎‎an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage ‎‎‎‎‎‎in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed ‎‎‎‎‎‎Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a ‎‎‎‎means to a significant educational ‎‎end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the ‎‎‎‎development of good learning ‎‎conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is ‎‎‎‎possible, provide for individual ‎‎differences, abilities, and interests. ‎

Teach Residential English courses in the Department of English. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching. Teaching assignments include general education courses in English and Writing. The position requires a love of teaching, the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, knowledge of pedagogical best practices, the ability to use current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.), and a commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

Education and experience

Minimum Qualifications

MA in English, or 18 graduate hours in discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

PHD in English; MFA in Creative Writing; Credentials to teach TESOL.

Courses are typically paid at $800 per load hour.

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least an MA in English or 18 graduate hours in the discipline, with a PhD or MFA preferred. A commitment to the evangelical standards and Christian worldview of Liberty University is required.
