Description Lake Mead Christian Ministries (LMCM) Minister - South Campus Physical Education (PE) Teacher Job Type: Full Time Department: South Campus Reports to: South Campus Principal Compensation: $38,000-$44,000 Annually Job Summary: The Physical Education Teacher at the South Campus (K-6th grade level) is responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities, monitoring students, and evaluating student progress. Physical Education in elementary school generally emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. The Physical Education Teacher records and maintains student information. He or she is responsible for communicating with all parties involved in the student's education.

- Functions: Prepares and sets up the gym before the first day of school Sets up equipment before class Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students Prepares and implements lesson plans, providing for appropriate learning experiences for each student Establishes and enforces rules of conduct; supervises students in the gymnasium, playground, outside on the blacktop, or athletic fields Demonstrates skills being taught; assists students in performing skills Teaches safety rules related to each activity Assesses fitness levels; performs fitness testing With the guidance of the director, researches and orders physical education and recess equipment Plans, organizes, and coordinates field day; develops activities; sets up for activities Monitors and evaluates student skill levels and outcomes Prepares information sheets for participation in parent-teacher conferences Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and the community Attends planning meetings, team meetings, staff meetings, PD meetings, and other meetings of groups according to membership in those groups Monitors use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities Works traffic duty, recess duty, and lunch duty Prepares lesson plans and materials for substitute teachers; includes class lists, and any special instructions related to students’ special needs Working knowledge of emergency plans for the school, such as lockdown procedures
