The teacher is responsible for instructing students in Social Studies in accordance with the Catholic Church's teachings and the Diocese of Orlando's curriculum, while also assessing student progress using approved procedures. Maintains Florida state teaching certification.
Communicates regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and school administration.
Participates in the Diocese of Orlando Diocesan Catechist Certification Program and in Diocesan and school-sponsored professional development programs.
Performs teaching duties as assigned by the principal or assistant principal Attends required faculty and staff meetings.
Cooperates with the principal and staff members in school-related meetings, activities, and projects.
Maintains accurate student attendance and academic records.
Maintains a safe, orderly, and secure learning and working environment.
Participates in the semi-annual performance review based upon the implementation of the general responsibilities of a professional educator at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.
Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters.
Supervises and evaluates students.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Practicing Catholic preferred Compliance with Diocesan FBI fingerprint clearance and compliance with Safe Environment training and test requirements Appropriate Florida State Teaching Certification Organization Ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing Strong command of both written and spoken English language Theology positions require a master in divinity CATHOLIC FAITH Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings.
