$17.25–$18.25 (depending on related experience)

Nature of Work

The Social Skills Counselor provides support and assistance to individuals with mental health or substance use disorders who want to return to school or formal training with a goal of achieving skills necessary to obtain employment. The Education Specialist provides unconditional, non-judgmental support to assigned clients who are participating with Adult Behavioral Health HCBS/CORE. The Education Specialist works collaboratively with Care Managers.

Minimum Requirements

BA degree and two years of experience supporting individuals in pursuing education goals.

Must have a minimum of two years experience working in behavioral health. Must possess an understanding of the principles of recovery and resiliency model.

Must meet the requirements of the Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse/maltreatment of children, Justice Center Staff Exclusion List clearance, and Justice Center Criminal History Review for criminal convictions.
