Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support students with diverse learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers and families to ensure academic, behavioral, and social success while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ academic and functional goals. Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide accommodations, modifications, and inclusive instructional support. Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and services. Participate in eligibility meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and other special education meetings. Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, state regulations, and school policies. Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and outside service providers. Use data-driven practices to support student growth and achievement. Implement classroom management strategies that foster a safe and inclusive learning environment. Coordinate with related service providers including speech therapists, counselors, psychologists, and occupational therapists. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and educational needs. Participate in professional development, school events, and faculty meetings as required. QualificationsQualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field. Valid Tennessee teaching license with Special Education endorsement. Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs. Preferred Master’s degree in Special Education or related field. Experience working in an urban or charter school setting. Experience with inclusion, intervention programs, and behavior support strategies. Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout the school building and classroom environments. Ability to supervise and assist students as needed. Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and classroom supplies.
