Minnehaha Academy seeking a Building Substitute Teacher to work every school day of 2026-2027 in our Middle School. The Middle School Building Substitute will serve the entire Middle School.
The hours are 8
00-3:30. This is an hourly position, with 7 hours of paid time daily and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
Purpose
To maintain a positive and well-managed learning environment and to provide strong and stable instruction for students during teacher absences.
Qualifications
- College degree, educational background strongly preferred
- Previous teaching experience in an elementary setting strongly preferred
- Teaching License preferred, not mandatory
- Ability to integrate the Christian faith into all aspects of the classroom
- Key Responsibilities
- Serve in various capacities within the Middle School daily. Provide instructional continuity during teacher absences, implementing teacher lesson plans to ensure continued learning and growth
- Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment
- Assist with non-instructional duties such as morning drop-off, lunchroom supervision, recess monitoring, and dismissal, as needed
- Provide clear feedback for the returning teacher regarding student progress and any behavioral notes.

The salary range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour, to be determined by our Human Resource Director based on education and experience.
